Zoomlee was a sponsor and is proud to share some freehand sketch the participants created as part of fun at the conference! We are pleased to post some of the winning entries of the art contest. Watch out for more in this space.
At Zoomlee we take compliance seriously. Have you heard of the CXO who needs to travel tomorrow for an important business meeting and finds the passport has expired? There are several instances of business travelers, international students, expats and casual tourists stranded because of an expired passport. Any travel document that is not tracked for expiration can put you in trouble – from being stranded to landing in jail! We have heard people saying that they keep their documents safe in an email attachment or in cloud storage boxes. We thought we should go beyond that and set up alerts so that you stay compliant. It is simple and easy to set up and track any of your documents. Take a picture of the document, open in Zoomlee and securely store under the document category defined. You can also add any email attachment the same way! We do not want you to be a Forgetful Jones!

Zoomlee is a star in my eyes and here’s why…
I am an avid traveler, and love to be on-the-go exploring places. This calls for effective and safe organization of important documents, without which I can’t get far. With the new Zoomlee app, my dedicated time to prepare documents for my travel has vanished. Prior to my travel dates, I don’t set aside a day anymore, to merely sort out files and documents, gathering important documents that I would require. Zoomlee has taken away that extra time and effort off my shoulders.
With Zoomlee’s incredibly intelligent features, I can upload necessary documents with relevant dates from anywhere at any time, and forget about them. Here is the coolest part, Zoomlee even notified me when my passport was about to expire. Now, that’s what I call a SMART app! I was able to share documents with my family members, hassle-free. There was no need to hunt for a local scanning store carrying around my documents. As long as I was connected to the internet, sharing documents was only a click away.
Not to mention, calling for emergency help is made easier than ever before. One can find the nearest police stations, hospitals, consulates, embassies, and more only on Zoomlee. Personally, I am not aware of an application that makes traveling overseas easier than Zoomlee does. No matter which corner of the world I am in, whatever may be the local time, Zoomlee has always got my back. I say this with first-hand experience using Zoomlee to my satisfaction. Download it NOW my friends!

We all know how painful it can get at the end of the year when we need to file our taxes.
Step 1 : You need to get W2 from your employer.
Step 2 : You need to look at all your investments and get the required 1099 forms from various institutions and keep them safely until you are ready to file your return.
Step 3 : You also need to report any foreign income under the FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts) and need to get bank statements and tax withholdings from your overseas banks.
Added to this is the complexity of tracking the number of days spent outside your home country to determine resident status for tax filing. You can now store all this information securely in Zoomlee under finance category and send all this information to your CPA with just one click through an email. And yes, tax tracking days has been made simpler with Zoomlee’s automatic GPS based tracking when you travel. Enjoy your travel and let Zoomlee take care of filing your taxes for 2015!
My dream to pursue Master’s in Computer Science in the USA turned into reality on August 2014, as my admission was accepted at Arizona State University. It is true that the entire application process can be gruesome and involves a lot of documentation work. In such a case, keeping your documents intact and handy is necessary.
The university instructed me to carry all my original documents for their verification purpose. After my arrival, I headed straight to the university and got my documents sorted. Assuming that all my necessary procedures were done, I decided to keep my documents in safe place rather than carrying them around and worrying about them. However, I unexpectedly had to fill in some extra forms, for which I had to keep referring to my documents. For instance, to fill in the CPT form, my passport details, I-94 details, etc. were required, as these details are not easy to remember I had to physically carry my documents everywhere. I was constantly worried about losing my important documents.
To ease out the documentation, I kept soft copies in my Drop Box account. However, I realized that I had to manually segregate them into folders, which was again a time-consuming and frustrating task. I knew I had to do something to make my documents easily available and at the same time not having to carry them physically everywhere.
Then, I came across this app ‘Zoomlee’, which made my life so easy and organized. All I had to do was click a photo of the document, fill in some basic details and the app did it all. The app organized all the documents with minimal effort and managing them has become considerably easy. The biggest highlight is that I can access all my documents even without the internet. That’s a big thumbs-up from me.
With so many aspirants who visit international places for their future endeavors, carrying multiple documents and keeping them safe is quite a task. Zoomlee helps to reduce this stress with its fantastic features and surely makes life much simpler. I strongly recommend every student & traveler download this app to make travel stress-free.

Concerned over the restriction of the L-1 work permit and high rejection rate, many Indian IT companies are hoping for discussions at the government level to ease out some of the problems when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Silicon Valley in September.
“L-1 is a category that allows people with managerial, executive or specialised knowledge to be moved to the US offices from their foreign country offices for taking up a position on a temporary basis. For the US, they need to reasonably protect domestic jobs over outsourced staffing and thus there is a grey area that is being challenged as misuse by IT companies,” said Pankaj Joshi, MD, NYSA Capital, a Delhi NCR-based advisory firm that specialises in the investment-immigration programme to the US.
Following a study by the National Foundation for American Policy titled ‘L1 Denial Rates Increase Again for High Skill Foreign Nationals’, which confirmed that Indian nationals face the highest refusal rate in the L-1B visa programme, there has been great concern among Indian IT companies and professionals on the matter. This is despite the fact that actual numbers for L visas issued to Indian applicants went up in 2014 (44,954) compared to 2013 (43,773).
Few people are benefiting more from the boom in new communication technology than expats.
